- To begin with I removed a lot of the saturation from both images to give the album a more 'old school' feel.
- I also increased the concentration of the red and yellow hues to give the image a brown-ish feel, for the same reason as above.
- I used a brush to give the background some patterning and make it stand out more than a plain colour would. I did this by painting over a plain brown background and decreasing the opacity so that the brown colour still comes through.
- I also played around with the gamma on the picture at the top right of the cover, this made the shadows seem bigger and darker, emphasising the idea of a troubled background, which is a common meta-narrative amongst rappers.
- If I were to do this again I would improve the use of text in this cover, as it does not stand out enough, looks out of place and it's also quite dissimilar from other mainstream album covers.
Welcome to our A2 Advanced Production blog. Here we will be blogging about our research for the project, progress with the project and eventually the evaluation of the project.
